IT’S TIME TO CHANGE HOW WE ENGAGE WITH SOCIAL MEDIA.
Let’s create a new relationship with our digital identity. We all have the power to change how we engage. We can actively choose to change our mindset and create a more loving relationship with social media. Why not choose love over likes?
Here are some tips to get you started.
1. Surround yourself with positive vibes on social media
Unfollow those who don’t inspire you and anyone who makes you feel less than. Get rid of toxic people on your newsfeed. You don’t have time for that. Give your time and attention to those who you believe contribute positively to the world.
2. Clear your head and release negative, crappy thoughts of “I’m not good enough”
It simply isn’t true! The easiest way to do this is by using “The Burn Bin” in the REFRESH section on the Happy Not Perfect App. Give it a try an over here, write down whatever is bothering you, and watch the problem catch fire and disintegrate, with just a few swipes.
3. Practice gratitude!
Instead of being addicted to external feedback, absorbing information about everyone else’s lives instead of your own, be grateful for everything you have in your life right now. Imagine if for every like you got, you spent a second saying thank you. Let’s say you got all the way to 100 likes today – ready to spend 100 seconds saying thanks ?
4. Send good vibes
And encourage others to do the same.
The VIBES on the Happy Not Perfect App allow you to use technology in a positive way and send notes of love and appreciation to others, anonymously. Get free VIBES on the app and make someone’s day today - we promise it’ll feel just as good on your end!
5. See the bigger picture
Technology is not slowing down. We’re only getting more connected. With that in mind, use it consciously. Use social media to be inspired and connect to others, rather than to validate your life choices. Avoid scrolling feeds if you’re feeling low. Bring it back to a place of gratitude, and focus on what you have over what you don’t (and what you think everyone else has from one social media post). Remember, our world is not just a carefully curated square image with filters.
What are you waiting for? It’s time to take your power back.
